Case Study - ANS CR

Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic

Ifield Computer Consultancy Limited (ICC) has worked closely with the Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic (ANS CR) as a strategic partner for over 15 years.

At the heart of ICC’s responsibilities are the development, management and support of the ATRAK (formerly known as IDP) suite of ATC applications. The ATRAK suite is an integral part of the air traffic and planning controller’s role in air traffic management.

In addition, ICC manage key aspects of hardware, operating systems and applications for the Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems and develop and support ANS CR’s core back-office IT systems.

“Our association with ICC has been formed over many years,” says Ing. Petr Materna - Director General of ANS CR.

“The close working relationship we have with our main partners and suppliers is a vital component in ANS CR meeting its overall objectives and strategies”. “ICC have been a major contributor to our ability to meet these objectives and we look forward to continuing a long and successful relationship with them”.

ICC’s technical expertise was fundamental in implementing these complex “high availability, mission critical” systems. Running Bull PowerClusters, the latest P Series logical partitioning servers and IBM/Bull AIX workstations, ICC technicians have applied their expertise in Oracle database management, Java, ODS Toolbox development and UNIX systems support and management to provide a key part of a complete turnkey solution to ANS CR.

“We need to work with organisations that can both compliment, and, add value to our internal resources and enable us to focus on our core business,” says Ing. Petr Materna. “ICC’s professionalism and technical expertise have helped us to meet these requirements”.
