ATRAK-IMS (ATC Information Management System)

ATRAK-IMS is a unique ATC solution developed by ICC. It delivers a vast array of information to the Air Traffic Planning Controller and was originally developed for the Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic (ANS CR), where it currently continues to be implemented.

Developed to perform under the most intense and mission-critical situations, ATRAK-IMS is a key information system that can simultaneously provide the Planning Controller with both up-to-the-second air traffic control status information, whilst providing a crucial repository of business and procedural information such as contacts, emergency procedures, etc. It delivers both graphical and textual status updates, on demand as well as intuitively, and can additionally generate a number of user customizable status reports.

ATRAK–IMS has been designed and developed from the ground up with the Air Traffic Planning Controller in mind.

In contrast to the majority of information systems, ATRAK-IMS does not require timely and complex drilldowns to gain access to vital data, but instead displays the information in a uniquely graphical manner. Multiple graphic displays enable large amounts of information to be relayed clearly, precisely, and rapidly with intelligent relevance to the current situation.

ATRAK-IMS delivers true value-add information to the Planning Controller, with industry standard interfaces capable of taking multiple feeds of information into the system. ATRAK-IMS is capable of accepting Airport (ACC), Approach (APP) or Tower (TWR) feeds into the system, either locally or from the nearest main airport systems. The system is capable of provided information on all airports within an entire designated country and bordering regions.

The underlying design, scalability, and configuration options of ATRAK-IMS now enable it to be deployed at considerably less cost in smaller sectors than has been previously possible. ATRAK-IMS is available to the Regional and Private European Airport sector in the form of a cost-effective package, delivering outstanding value-for-money without loss of any key functionality.

For the first time the system makes available to the smaller airports the same functionality and control only major airports have had in the past.

ATRAK-IMS can be supplied as part of a complete ATC solution that includes all hardware and applications needed. The ATRAK-IMS Enterprise Series solution includes a Unix based enterprise server, integrated database and high performance display processing. Workstations can optionally be extended from the Controller Work Position (CWP) by up to 1000 metres using Desktender.
