ATRAK-EC/PC (ATC Executive & Planning Control System)

ICC's ATRAK-EC/PC (Bypass and Planning Controller Display) system is an application developed by ICC in close co-operation with the Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic (ANS CR). Part of the ATRAK suite of ATC Solutions, ATRAK-EC/PC is currently implemented at ANS CR’s Prague based ACC, APP and TWR operational rooms.

ATRAK-EC/PC® is an executive and planning control Radar and Flight Plan data processing system and Controller Working Position (CWP) display system. The ATRAK-EC/PC system can be configured as:

• A fully functional ATC executive system or as a planning control and fall-back system alongside 3rd party executive systems.

• A fully functional ATC system for the duration of executive system unavailability.

• An integrated part of 3rd party ATM systems, providing Aircraft position and traffic flow display function

ATRAK-EC/PC provides processing of meteorological data, radar weather information and automated weather-observing system such as Vaisala/ Midas 600. The Planning control system incorporates EFDM™, Electronic Flight Data Management, a “paperless” functional block environment for the operation of electronic strips. EFDM comprises extended electronic label functionality and tabular flight display information. ATRAK works in union with Thales Eurocat 2000, and integrates into the ATRAK-IMS - Information Management System.

ATRAK-EC/PC comprises two core elements for operation:-

• Server

• Radar Workstation

The ATRAK-EC/PC server provides the core Information Data Processing system (IDP) and Flight Data Processing system (FDP) integration. The IDP and FDP data is processed in background by the ATRAK-EC/PC server and is then delivered to the corresponding ATRAK-EC/PC workstation. The data is processed across multiple power processors in a high availability configuration and supported by disk storage array raid sets to maintain maximum availability.

The ATRAK-EC/PC radar workstation comprises of a dual processor ATRAK-EC/PC workstation supporting the ATRAK digital video interface and ATRAK digital ATC displays. The displays and video interfaces are configured according to the specific requirements of the ATC workstation. The display keyboard and mouse is extended to operate remotely from the workstation via the ATRAK Desktender ensuring total security and system integrity of the workstations and servers that are housed in dedicated server racks away from the control rooms.

ATRAK-EC/PC can be provided as part of the ATRAK Enterprise Series complete ATC solution. The ATRAK-EC/PC Enterprise Series solution includes a Unix based enterprise server, integrated database and high performance display processing. All hardware is selected specifically for the application, configured and optimised to achieve the highest levels of performance and reliability. Workstations can optionally be extended from the Controller Work Position (CWP) by up to 1000 metres using Desktender.
